  • Building Width (meters): Enter the width of the building. This value is crucial for calculating the truss height and rafter length. Make sure your input is between 1 and 30 meters, and it can be precise to one decimal point (0.1 meter). This field is required.
  • Building Length (meters): Enter the length of the building. This measurement helps determine how many trusses are needed. Ensure the value is between 1 and 100 meters, allowing for a fraction up to one decimal place. This field is also required.

Step 2: Select the Roof Pitch

Select the preferred roof pitch from the options available in degrees. This choice impacts the roof truss height and rafter length calculations:

  • Roof Pitch (degrees): Choose one of the predefined angles: 14°, 18.4°, 22.6°, 26.6°, or 30.3°. This field is mandatory.

Step 3: Choose Truss Spacing

Select how closely spaced the trusses should be:

  • Truss Spacing (meters): Choose between spacings of 0.6 meters (equivalent to 24 inches) or 1.2 meters (48 inches). This selection is necessary to determine the number of trusses required and their maximum load.

Step 4: Input Snow Load

Enter the anticipated snow load for the roof:

  • Snow Load (kN/m²): Provide a value that represents the expected snow load. It must range between 0 and 10 kN/m² and can include a decimal up to the nearest tenth (0.1). This field is essential for accurate load calculations.

  • Truss Height: This output shows the calculated height of the truss, provided in meters with two decimal places.
  • Rafter Length (per side): Discover the rafter length for each side, also measured in meters and detailed to two decimal places.

  • Total Roof Surface Area: Get the total roof area in square meters, rounded to two decimal places.
