Using the Wedding Drink Calculator
The Wedding Drink Calculator is designed to help you estimate the amount of drinks you will need for your wedding event. Follow these steps to ensure you have enough refreshments for all your guests.
Step 1: Enter the Number of Guests
Begin by inputting the total number of guests you expect at your event. This field, labeled Number of Guests, is mandatory and requires a numerical input between 1 and 1000. Make sure to enter a realistic estimate to ensure accurate calculations.
Step 2: Specify the Duration of the Event
Next, you will need to enter the total duration of your event in hours under the field labeled Event Duration (hours). The duration can range from 1 to 24 hours and can be indicated in half-hour increments (e.g., 1.5, 2, 2.5, etc.).
Step 3: Select the Average Drinks per Hour
Choose the average number of drinks each guest is expected to consume per hour from the dropdown labeled Average Drinks per Hour per Guest. You have three options to select from: Light (1 drink/hour), Moderate (1.5 drinks/hour), or Heavy (2 drinks/hour). Make your selection based on the type of event and guest preferences.
Step 4: Allocate Drink Percentages
In this step, allocate the percentages of beer, wine, and spirits you plan to serve. You need to fill in three separate fields:
- Beer Percentage (%): Enter a value between 0 and 100.
- Wine Percentage (%): Enter a value between 0 and 100.
- Spirits Percentage (%): Enter a value between 0 and 100.
Ensure that the sum of these percentages equals 100% to avoid calculation errors.
Step 5: View the Results
After completing the input fields, the calculator will provide you with the results indicating your drink needs:
- Total Drinks Needed: The total number of drinks calculated based on the number of guests, duration, and average consumption per hour.
- Beer Bottles (12 oz): The approximate number of beer bottles required.
- Wine Bottles (750 ml): The estimated number of wine bottles, rounded up to account for any remainder.
- Spirits Bottles (750 ml): The estimated number of spirits bottles needed, also rounded up.
- Mixers/Soft Drinks: The number of mixer units, calculated at a rate of 1.5 times the total drinks.
- Ice Needed: The amount of ice in pounds, recommended at 1.5 pounds per guest.
Use these results to plan your beverage purchases, ensuring that you have a sufficient supply for your wedding celebration.
