Step 1: Select Your Vehicle Type

The first step is to choose your vehicle type from the available options. Vehicle types have different toll rates, so it’s important to select the correct option. You can select from:

• Car/SUV/Pickup (2 axles)
• Small Truck (3-4 axles)
• Large Truck (5+ axles)

Step 2: Choose Your Payment Method

Next, select your payment method. The payment method you choose will affect the total toll amount. The two options available are:

• I-PASS/E-ZPass
• Pay Online within 14 days

Step 3: Enter the Number of Toll Plazas

In this step, input the number of toll plazas you expect to pass through. The calculator requires at least one toll plaza and allows up to a maximum of 20. Ensure you enter an integer value within this range.

Step 4: Input the Average Toll Rate

Enter the average toll rate per plaza in dollars. Ensure the value is realistic and within the range of $0.01 to $100.00. The toll rate should reflect the typical cost encountered on your route.

Step 5: Calculate the Toll

After entering all required information, the calculator will compute the total toll amount for your journey. Here’s how it works:

• Base Toll Amount: Calculated by multiplying the number of toll plazas by the average toll rate.
• Vehicle Type Rate: If you selected “Car/SUV/Pickup,” the base amount remains unchanged. For “Small Truck,” the toll amount is multiplied by 1.75, and for “Large Truck,” it is multiplied by 2.25.
• Total Toll Amount: If using I-PASS/E-ZPass, the vehicle type rate is the total amount. However, if paying online within 14 days, the vehicle type rate is doubled.
