How to Use the Limestone Calculator
The Limestone Calculator helps you calculate the volume and weight of limestone needed for a given area. Follow these steps to ensure accurate calculations.
Step 1: Enter Dimensions
- Length: Enter the length of the area in meters. Ensure the value is at least 0.01 meters.
- Width: Enter the width of the area in meters. Ensure the value is at least 0.01 meters.
- Depth: Input the depth of the limestone layer in meters. Ensure this value is at least 0.01 meters.
Step 2: Select Limestone Type
Choose the type of limestone you wish to use for your project. Each type has a specific density:
- Crushed Limestone (2611 kg/m³)
- Block Limestone (2563 kg/m³)
- Limestone Gravel (1554 kg/m³)
These densities will be used to calculate the weight of the limestone required.
Step 3: Specify Waste Percentage
Enter the percentage of limestone waste you wish to account for. The waste percentage should be between 0% and 100%. This factor helps in budgeting for materials that may not be used due to spillage or cutting waste during installation.
Step 4: Review Results
Once all inputs are entered correctly, the calculator will provide the following results:
- Volume (without waste): This is the calculated volume of limestone needed for the dimensions entered, displayed in cubic meters (m³).
- Volume (including waste): This is the volume including the additional percentage for waste, displayed in cubic meters (m³).
- Weight (without waste): The weight of the limestone required for the given dimensions and type, excluding waste, displayed in kilograms (kg).
- Weight (including waste): The weight calculated taking into account the defined waste percentage, displayed in kilograms (kg).
- Weight in Tonnes (including waste): The final weight converted into tonnes, including waste.
Use these calculated values to determine how much limestone you need to purchase and to estimate costs for your project.
