How to Use the Height Calculator

The Height Calculator is a tool designed to predict an individual’s adult height based on various inputs. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to use the calculator effectively.

Step 1: Enter Age

Begin by entering the age of the individual in the designated input field. Ensure that the age is between 2 and 20 years as these are the valid age limits for the calculation.

Step 2: Select Gender

Choose the gender of the individual by selecting either Male or Female from the dropdown menu. This selection is crucial as it influences the height prediction formula used.

Step 3: Input Parental Heights

  • Father’s Height: Enter the father’s height in centimeters. The height must be between 130 cm and 230 cm. Use increments of up to 0.1 cm for precision.
  • Mother’s Height: Similarly, enter the mother’s height in centimeters, within the same range and precision.

Step 4: Enter Current Height

Provide the current height of the individual in centimeters using the allocated field. The acceptable range is between 50 cm and 230 cm, with increments of 0.1 cm.

Step 5: Review Predictions and Data

Once the necessary information is entered, the calculator will display the following results:

  • Predicted Adult Height: This value is computed based on the parental heights and gender, showing the expected adult height in centimeters.
  • Current Height Percentile: This metric indicates the individual’s current height as a percentage of their predicted adult height.
  • Estimated Remaining Growth: This calculation shows how much growth is estimated to remain, presented in centimeters.

Step 6: Interpret the Results

Use the presented data to gain insights into the individual’s growth potential and current growth status. Note the estimated remaining growth to understand how much you can expect the individual to grow further.

By following these steps, you should be able to effectively use the Height Calculator for accurate and insightful predictions.
