Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Pressure Calculator
Step 1: Enter the Force
Start by entering the force into the first input field. This field is labeled as Force (N). The force should be entered in Newtons. Ensure the following:
- The value is a number greater than or equal to 0.
- You can use decimal values, with a minimum increment of 0.01.
- This field is required, so make sure to provide a valid input before proceeding to the next step.
Step 2: Enter the Area
Next, input the area in the field labeled Area (m²). This measurement should be in square meters. Take note of the following conditions:
- The area must be a positive number, greater than or equal to 0.000001 m².
- You can enter decimal values, with a minimum increment of 0.000001.
- This field is required, so ensure a valid entry to proceed further.
Step 3: Select the Output Unit
Choose your desired unit for the pressure output from the Output Unit dropdown menu. The available units are:
- Pascal (Pa)
- Kilopascal (kPa)
- Megapascal (MPa)
- Pounds per square inch (psi)
- Bar
This field is mandatory, and it’s important to select one of the units to get the pressure result in the preferred measurement.
Step 4: Review the Calculated Pressure
Once all the required fields are completed and valid entries have been made, the calculator will automatically display the computed pressure results. The results are shown in several formats:
- Pressure: This value uses the selected output unit and appears with 4 decimal places for precision.
- Pressure (Pa): This is the calculated pressure in Pascals, shown with a precision of 2 decimal places and labeled with ‘Pa’ as a suffix.
- Pressure (atm): The pressure displayed in atmospheres is calculated with a precision of 6 decimal places and includes ‘atm’ as a suffix.
