How to Use the Old Calculator

Welcome to the Old Calculator guide. This step-by-step guide will help you utilize all the features and functionalities of this versatile calculator.

Input Fields

This calculator contains three main input fields that you need to interact with to perform calculations.

  • First Number:

Enter your first number in the designated input field labeled First Number. Make sure the number falls within the allowable range of -999,999,999 to 999,999,999. This field is required, so you must provide a value before proceeding.

  • Operation:

Select the desired mathematical operation from the dropdown menu labeled Operation. The options available include Addition (+), Subtraction (-), Multiplication (×), Division (÷), Power (^), Square Root (√), and Percentage (%). This selection is mandatory for the calculator to process the numbers correctly.

  • Second Number:

Input your second number in the field labeled Second Number. Similar to the First Number, ensure it lies within the range of -999,999,999 to 999,999,999. This field is also required for operations other than Square Root, where it can be left empty.

Performing Calculations

Once you have provided all necessary inputs, the calculator will automatically compute the operation based on the predefined logic. Below are the potential operations and their conditions:

  • Addition (+): Adds the first and second numbers.
  • Subtraction (-): Subtracts the second number from the first number.
  • Multiplication (×): Multiplies the first number with the second number.
  • Division (÷): Divides the first number by the second number.
  • Power (^): Raises the first number to the power of the second number.
  • Square Root (√): Calculates the square root of the first number. The second number is not required for this operation.
  • Percentage (%): Calculates the percentage the first number represents of the second number.

Result Fields

After you specify all necessary details, the results will be displayed in three formats:

  • Basic Result:

This field shows the final result of your specified operation. It is displayed with up to four decimal places for precision.

  • Scientific Notation:

The result is also presented in scientific notation form for easier interpretation of large or small numbers, rounded to two decimal places.

  • Percentage View:

This field portrays the result as a percentage, providing insight into relative magnitudes with up to two decimal places.

Ensure that all fields are filled accurately to achieve correct results. Happy calculating!
