Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Schengen Stay Calculator
This calculator is designed to help you determine your stay duration in the Schengen Area and manage your eligible days effectively under the 90/180-day rule. Follow the steps below to use the Schengen Stay Calculator.
Step 1: Enter Entry Date
Locate the Entry Date field. This is where you input the date when you entered the Schengen Area. Make sure the date is between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2026. This field is mandatory.
Step 2: Enter Exit Date
In the Exit Date field, provide the date you plan to leave or have left the Schengen Area. Similar to the Entry Date, ensure the exit date falls within the same time range. This is also a required field.
Step 3: Input Previous Days Stayed
Next, fill out the Days spent in Schengen Area in last 180 days field. Enter the number of days you have already spent in the Schengen Area during the last 180 days. Valid entries range from 0 to 180 days. Ensure you enter whole numbers only, as decimals are not accepted. This entry is compulsory.
Step 4: Select Type of Stay
Choose the Type of Stay from the dropdown menu provided. You can select either Tourist/Business (90/180 days rule) or Student/Long-term visa. This selection is required to proceed with the calculation.
Step 5: Review the Results
- Length of Current Stay: This result will automatically calculate the number of days between your entry and exit dates.
- Total Days in Schengen: Here, the calculator adds your previous stay days to the length of your current stay to provide the total days spent in the Schengen Area.
- Remaining Days Available: For the 90/180 days rule, it shows how many more days you can stay in the Schengen Area. This is calculated as 90 days minus the total days you have already spent.
- End of 180-day Period: This calculation provides the date that marks the end of your current 180-day period starting from the entry date.
By following these steps, you can effectively manage your travel plans within the Schengen Area and ensure you adhere to the legal stay requirements. Always double-check your inputs to ensure accuracy in the results.
