Step 1: Enter Your Scores
- Assignment Score: Locate the field labeled Assignment Score and input your score out of 100. Ensure your entry is a number between 0 and 100, using increments of 0.1 for any decimals.
- Quiz Score: In the field labeled Quiz Score, enter your quiz score from 0 to 100, also using increments of 0.1 for precision.
- Midterm Exam Score: Input your midterm exam score in the designated field, ensuring that it falls within the 0 to 100 range.
- Participation Score: Enter your participation score in the provided box, again ensuring it is a number between 0 and 100.
Step 2: Choose a Grading Scheme
After entering your scores, select a grading scheme from the dropdown labeled Grading Scheme. The options are:
- Standard (20/20/40/20): This weighting scheme allocates 20% to assignments, 20% to quizzes, 40% to midterms, and 20% to participation.
- Midterm Heavy (15/15/50/20): Here, assignments and quizzes count for 15% each, midterms for 50%, and participation for 20%.
- Assignment Heavy (30/20/30/20): This option gives 30% weight to assignments, 20% to quizzes, 30% to midterms, and 20% to participation.
Step 3: Calculate Your Results
Once all scores and the grading scheme are selected, the calculator will automatically compute the following:
- Current Grade: This field shows your overall percentage grade calculated according to the selected scheme.
- Letter Grade: This displays the corresponding letter grade based on your current percentage.
- Points Needed for A Grade: This indicates how many additional points you would need to achieve an ‘A’ grade, account for the difference up to a 90% score.
