Using the Inequalities Calculator
The Inequalities Calculator is a simple tool designed to help you evaluate and understand numerical inequalities. Follow these steps to use the calculator effectively.
Step 1: Enter the Left Number
Start by entering a number in the Left Number field. This number will be used as the left operand in the inequality comparison. Ensure that this field is filled in, as it is required for the calculation to proceed.
Step 2: Enter the Right Number
Next, input a number in the Right Number field. This number will act as the right operand in the inequality comparison, completing the equation. Like the left number, this field is also required.
Step 3: Select an Inequality Operator
Choose an inequality operator from the provided dropdown menu. The available operators are:
- Less than (<) – To check if the left number is less than the right number.
- Greater than (>) – To check if the left number is greater than the right number.
- Less than or equal to (≤) – To check if the left number is less than or equal to the right number.
- Greater than or equal to (≥) – To check if the left number is greater than or equal to the right number.
The selection of an operator is mandatory to perform the inequality evaluation.
Step 4: Evaluate the Inequality
Once you have entered the left and right numbers and selected an operator, the calculator will determine if the inequality is true or false. The result will be displayed in the Is Inequality true? section. This result is denoted as a number (1 for true, 0 for false).
Step 5: Calculate the Difference
The calculator also provides the absolute difference between the left and right numbers. This can be useful for understanding the magnitude of discrepancy in your selected numbers. The result is shown in the Difference between numbers section, rounded to two decimal places.
By following these steps, you can effectively use the Inequalities Calculator to analyze and interpret numerical inequalities with ease.
