How to Use the BSA Calculator
This Body Surface Area (BSA) calculator allows you to estimate the BSA using different formulas. Follow these simple steps to calculate the BSA efficiently:
Step 1: Enter Your Height
- Locate the Height field: You need to find the input box labeled “Height (cm)”.
- Input your height: Enter your height in centimeters.
- Validation: Ensure the height is between 30 cm and 300 cm, using increments of 0.1 cm.
Step 2: Enter Your Weight
- Find the Weight field: Look for the input box marked “Weight (kg)”.
- Input your weight: Enter your weight in kilograms.
- Validation: Make sure the weight is between 2 kg and 500 kg, with a step of 0.1 kg.
Step 3: Select a BSA Formula
- Select a formula: Choose one of the available formulas from the dropdown menu labeled “BSA Formula”.
- Available formulas:
- DuBois & DuBois
- Mosteller
- Haycock
- Gehan & George
- Important: Selecting a formula is required for the calculation to proceed.
Step 4: View the Results
Based on your selected formula, the calculator will display the BSA value using the formula-specific calculation logic. Here are how the different results are formatted:
- BSA (DuBois & DuBois): The result, if selected, is calculated and displayed in square meters (m²) up to 2 decimal points.
- BSA (Mosteller): If chosen, the Mosteller formula’s result is provided to 2 decimal places in m².
- BSA (Haycock): This result is similarly displayed in m², rounding to 2 decimal precision.
- BSA (Gehan & George): The output follows the same format, rendered in m² with 2 decimal points.
Ensure that all input values fall within the specified range, or the calculator may not provide accurate results. Enjoy using your BSA calculator!
