Guide to Using the Sigma Calculator
Step 1: Enter the Start Number
Begin by entering the Start Number (i) in the designated input field. This is the number from which the series will start. The field requires a whole number greater than or equal to zero, and you must enter a valid integer to proceed.
Step 2: Enter the End Number
Next, input the End Number (n) in the corresponding field, which indicates the last number in the series. Similar to the start number, the end number must also be a whole number greater than or equal to zero. Make sure the end number is greater than or equal to the start number to form a valid series.
Step 3: Select the Series Type
Choose the type of series you want to calculate from the Series Type dropdown menu. The options available are:
- Natural Numbers (1 + 2 + 3 + …)
- Square Numbers (1² + 2² + 3² + …)
- Cube Numbers (1³ + 2³ + 3³ + …)
- Arithmetic Sequence
Select the option that fits your series requirements. Note that selecting ‘Arithmetic Sequence’ requires an additional parameter.
Step 4: Provide the Common Difference (Optional)
If you choose Arithmetic Sequence as your series type, you need to enter the Common Difference in the provided field. This value determines the constant difference between consecutive terms in your arithmetic series. This step is optional for other series types.
Step 5: Calculate the Results
After entering all the required input fields, the calculator will automatically compute and display the results:
- Sum (Σ): The sum of all numbers in your specified series.
- Number of Terms: This represents the total number of terms in the series, calculated as the difference between the end number and the start number plus one.
- Average Value: The average value of the terms in your series, computed by dividing the sum by the number of terms.
The results will be displayed in the specified numerical format with appropriate decimal precision.
