How to Use the Brick Wall Calculator
The Brick Wall Calculator is a helpful tool designed to estimate the number of bricks, mortar, and other materials needed for constructing a brick wall. This guide walks you through the steps required to effectively use the calculator.
Step 1: Enter Wall Dimensions
- Wall Length: Enter the length of the wall in meters in the ‘Wall Length (meters)’ input field. Ensure the value is at least 0.1 meters and can be adjusted in increments of 0.01 meters.
- Wall Height: Enter the height of the wall in meters in the ‘Wall Height (meters)’ input field. Like the length, the minimum value is 0.1 meters and can be adjusted in increments of 0.01 meters.
Step 2: Select Brick Type
Select the type of brick you will be using from the ‘Brick Type’ dropdown menu. The options include:
- Standard Brick: 215×102.5x65mm
- Modular Brick: 190x90x57mm
- Engineering Brick: 215×102.5x65mm
Step 3: Specify Mortar Thickness
Enter the desired mortar thickness in millimeters in the ‘Mortar Joint Thickness (mm)’ field. Acceptable values range from 8 to 12mm with a default value of 10mm, adjustable in increments of 1mm.
Step 4: View Results
- Wall Area: The calculator will automatically compute the wall area based on the provided length and height, presenting it in square meters to two decimal places.
- Number of Bricks Needed: The estimated quantity of bricks required is displayed, adjusted for brick type selection and inclusive of a wastage allowance.
- Mortar Volume Required: The volume of mortar necessary for the wall construction is provided, factoring in the chosen joint thickness and is presented in cubic meters.
- Wastage Allowance: An additional 10% of bricks is calculated as necessary wastage, showing how many extra bricks should be factored into your purchase.
Ensure all data inputted is accurate to guarantee correct estimations from the calculator. Adjust as necessary to align with project specifications. The Brick Wall Calculator serves as a fundamental planning tool and complements detailed project assessments carried out by professionals.
