Using the Aerobic Capacity Calculator

The Aerobic Capacity Calculator is a helpful tool designed to estimate your VO2 max, average speed, and fitness level category based on several input parameters. Follow the steps below to correctly use the calculator.

Step 1: Input Your Personal Information

Begin by entering your personal details in the input fields provided:

  • Gender: Select your gender from the dropdown menu. You can choose between ‘Male’ or ‘Female’. This input is required.
  • Age (years): Enter your age in the numeric field. You must be at least 18 years old and no older than 120. Ensure that you enter a whole number as this field requires it.

Step 2: Enter Your Exercise Details

Provide the details of your exercise session using the following fields:

  • Distance Covered (meters): Input the total distance you covered during the exercise. The valid range is from 100 meters to 50,000 meters, and it is a required field.
  • Time Taken (minutes): Enter the amount of time, in minutes, it took you to cover the distance. The valid range is from 1 to 300 minutes. You can use decimals to record the time accurately.
  • Heart Rate After Exercise (bpm): Provide your heart rate immediately after the exercise session in beats per minute (bpm). This field accepts values from 40 to 220 bpm.
  • Weight (kg): Enter your weight in kilograms. The weight range should be between 30 kg and 300 kg. You can enter decimal values to represent your weight more precisely.

Step 3: Calculate Your Results

Once all required fields are filled, the calculator will automatically compute the results based on the input data:

  • VO2 Max (ml/kg/min): This value represents your maximal oxygen uptake, expressed in milliliters of oxygen consumed per kilogram of body weight per minute.
  • Average Speed (km/h): This is the average speed calculated in kilometers per hour based on the distance and time you entered.
  • Fitness Level Category: Based on your VO2 max, you will be categorized into one of the following levels: Excellent, Above Average, Average, Below Average, or Poor.
