Step 1: Enter the Length
Start by entering the length in feet. You should input this measurement in the designated field labeled “Length (feet)”. Ensure that you provide a value greater than or equal to 0. You can input decimal places using a step of 0.01 to get a more precise measurement.
Step 2: Enter the Width
Next, enter the width in the field labeled “Width (feet)”. Similar to the length, this value must be a non-negative number. Use the placeholder field as a guide to enter a precise width with a step value of 0.01.
Step 3: Enter the Depth
Proceed by inputting the depth in the field labeled “Depth (feet)”. Again, this should be a non-negative number, and you can use decimal places in increments of 0.01 for more accuracy.
Step 4: Select the Measurement Type
Once you’ve entered the dimensions, select the appropriate measurement type from the dropdown menu labeled “Measurement Type”. The options available are:
- Rectangular/Square Area: Choose this option if the shape of the area is rectangular or square.

- Circular Area: Opt for this when dealing with a circular area, using a factor of π/4 (approximately 0.785398).

- Approximate Weight in Tons: To find the approximate weight, the cubic yards result is multiplied by an average density factor of 1.4. The outcome is presented in tons, formatted to two decimal places.
