How to Use the Density Calculator
Step 1: Enter Mass
Begin by entering the mass of the object you want to calculate density for. Locate the Mass input field and kindly type the mass value in the appropriate field labeled “Enter mass”. Ensure that the mass value is a non-negative number and adheres to the minimum value requirement of 0.
Step 2: Select Mass Unit
Next, select the unit of measurement for the mass from the given choices. You can choose from:
- Kilograms (kg)
- Grams (g)
- Metric Tons (t)
Make the selection from the Mass Unit dropdown menu based on the unit in which your mass value is measured.
Step 3: Enter Volume
Move on to entering the volume of the object. Locate the Volume input field where you are to type the volume value. The input should be a non-negative number, with a minimum value allowed as 0.
Step 4: Select Volume Unit
Choose the unit of measurement for the volume from the available options. You have the following options:
- Cubic meters (m³)
- Liters (L)
- Cubic centimeters (cm³)
- Milliliters (mL)
Use the Volume Unit dropdown menu to make your choice based on the volume’s unit of measurement.
Step 5: Review Calculated Density Results
Once you have entered all necessary inputs concerning mass and volume including their respective units, the calculator will compute the density of the object. The results are displayed in the following formats:
- Density (kg/m³): This result shows the density calculated in kilograms per cubic meter.
- Density (g/cm³): This indicates the density in grams per cubic centimeter. It is a converted value.
- Density (g/mL): This displays the density in grams per milliliter, another converted form of density.
Check the result fields to view the calculated density values with specified number of decimal places as indicated in the calculator’s format settings.
