How to Use the Easy Grade Calculator

The Easy Grade Calculator is designed to help you determine your percentage score, weighted score, letter grade, and GPA equivalent based on your assignment scores. Follow these steps to accurately use this calculator:

Step 1: Input Your Assignment Details

Begin by entering the details of your assignment. You will need to provide the following information:

  • Assignment Score: Enter the score you received for your assignment. This should be a number between 0 and 100, with precision allowed up to two decimal places.
  • Total Possible Points: Enter the total points possible for the assignment. Like the assignment score, this should be a number between 0 and 100 with an accuracy of up to two decimal places.
  • Assignment Weight (%): Specify how much this assignment contributes to the overall grade. Enter a value between 0 and 100, allowing for up to two decimal places.

Step 2: Select a Grade Scale

The calculator allows you to choose between different grading scales. Select the one that applies to your course or institution:

  • Standard: This scale categorizes grades as follows: A: 90-100, B: 80-89, C: 70-79, D: 60-69, F: 0-59.
  • Plus/Minus: A more detailed scale that assigns pluses and minuses, such as: A+: 97-100, A: 93-96, A-: 90-92, and so on.

Step 3: Calculate Your Results

After entering all necessary information and selecting your grade scale, the calculator will compute the following results:

  • Percentage Score: This is calculated as (Assignment Score / Total Possible Points) * 100 and displayed with two decimal precision in percentage format.
  • Weighted Score: The calculator determines your weighted score using the formula Percentage Score * (Assignment Weight / 100). This score is presented in percentage with two decimal precision.
  • Letter Grade: Based on your percentage score and the selected grading scale, your letter grade will be computed and shown.
  • GPA Equivalent: Your GPA is calculated based on the percentage score as follows: ≥ 90 results in a 4.0 GPA, ≥ 80 in a 3.0 GPA, ≥ 70 in a 2.0 GPA, ≥ 60 in a 1.0 GPA, and < 60 in a 0.0 GPA.

These steps will guide you through using the Easy Grade Calculator efficiently to obtain an accurate understanding of your academic standings.
