How to Use the Eye Color Calculator

This Eye Color Calculator is a tool designed to predict the probability of a child’s eye color based on the eye color of their parents and grandparents. Follow the step-by-step guide below to use the calculator effectively.

Step 1: Provide Parent Eye Color Information

  • Select Parent 1 Eye Color: Choose the eye color for Parent 1 from the options available: Brown, Green, Blue, or Hazel. This is a required field, so make sure to make a selection.
  • Select Parent 2 Eye Color: Similarly, select the eye color for Parent 2 from the provided options. This is also a mandatory field.

Step 2: Provide Grandparent Eye Color Information

  • Select Grandparent 1 Eye Color: Choose the eye color for Grandparent 1 from the same set of options: Brown, Green, Blue, or Hazel. Ensure that a choice is made as this is a required input.
  • Select Grandparent 2 Eye Color: Select the eye color for Grandparent 2, following the same guidelines and options as the previous selections.

Step 3: Calculate Probabilities

After completing the above steps, the calculator will use the provided information to compute the probabilities of different eye colors for the child. The results will be displayed in a percentage format for each eye color possibility:

  • Probability of Brown Eyes: The tool will calculate how likely it is for the child to have brown eyes based on the selected inputs.
  • Probability of Green Eyes: This field shows the calculated probability of the child inheriting green eyes.
  • Probability of Blue Eyes: The probability that the child’s eye color will be blue will be displayed here.
  • Probability of Hazel Eyes: This result indicates the likelihood of the child having hazel eyes.

The calculations are formatted to display as percentages with one decimal point for easy interpretation.
