Guide to Using the Grade Calculator

This Grade Calculator is designed to help you compute your final grade based on different weighted components such as assignments, midterms, finals, and participation. Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure accurate calculations.

Step 1: Input Your Scores

• Locate the Assignment Score field. Enter your score in the range of 0 to 100. This is a required field.
• Proceed to the Midterm Exam Score field. Enter your score here, again ensuring it falls between 0 and 100.
• In the Final Exam Score field, input your score from your final exam, within the same 0 to 100 range.
• The Participation Score field should reflect your participation score, ranging from 0 to 100.

Step 2: Select Weighting Percentages

• Under Assignment Weight (%), select a percentage ranging from 20% to 40% which reflects how much weight your assignments have in the final grade.
• Next, choose the Midterm Weight (%) by selecting a weight between 20% and 35% according to your syllabus or course guide.
• For Final Exam Weight (%), select a percentage value from 30% to 45%. This represents how heavily your final exam impacts your grade.
• Lastly, choose the Participation Weight (%) with available options from 5% to 15%, indicating participation’s contribution to your overall grade.

Step 3: View Your Results

• Once you have entered all the necessary information, the calculator will use the provided values to compute your Final Grade. The result is given as a percentage with two decimal places for precision.
• Based on the final grade, the calculator will automatically assign a Letter Grade in accordance with standard grading scales (e.g., A, B, C, etc.).
• The calculator will also determine your Pass/Fail Status, letting you know if you have passed or failed the course based on a threshold of 60%.
