How to Use the Land Calculator
The Land Calculator is designed to help you determine the area, perimeter, and value of a piece of land based on its dimensions and shape. Follow the steps below to make the most of its functionalities:
Step 1: Enter Land Dimensions
- Length (meters): Enter the length of the land in meters. Make sure to input a value greater than 0.1 and up to two decimal places.
- Width (meters): Similar to the length, input the width of the land in meters. It must also be greater than 0.1 and can include up to two decimal places.
Step 2: Select Land Shape
-
Land Shape: Choose the shape that best describes your land from the dropdown menu:
- Rectangle/Square
- Circle/Oval
- Triangle
Step 3: Input Land Pricing
Price per Square Meter: Enter the cost of the land per square meter in the provided field. Ensure this value is a positive number that can be specified up to two decimal places.
Step 4: Calculate Results
After you have filled out all the input fields, the calculator will automatically compute the following:
- Total Area: The total area of the land will be calculated based on the length, width, and selected shape, and displayed in square meters.
-
Perimeter: The perimeter of the land is determined according to its shape:
- Rectangle/Square: 2 times the sum of length and width.
- Circle/Oval: An approximation using the formula for an ellipse.
- Triangle: The perimeter is calculated as twice the length plus the width.
- Total Land Value: This value represents the total monetary value of the land based on the calculated area and unit price, expressed in USD.
- Acreage: The calculator will convert the total area into acres for your convenience.
- Hectares: Similar to acreage, the total area will also be shown in hectares.
Ensure that all required fields are filled out correctly to receive accurate results. Adjustments to any of the inputs will prompt the calculator to recalculate the outputs in real-time.
