How to Use the Landscape Cost Calculator

The Landscape Cost Calculator is designed to help you estimate the cost of a landscaping project based on various customizable factors such as area dimensions, surface type, irrigation system, lighting, and plant density. Follow the steps below to utilize this tool effectively:

Step 1: Enter Area Dimensions

Begin by specifying the dimensions of the area you wish to landscape:

  • Length of Area (meters): Enter the length in meters, ensuring it is between 0.1 and 1000 meters. Use increments of 0.1 meters.
  • Width of Area (meters): Enter the width in meters, with the same range and increments as the length.

Both fields are required and should accurately reflect the dimensions of your landscaping project area.

Step 2: Choose Surface Type

Select a surface type for your project from the available options:

  • Natural Grass (€45/m²)
  • Artificial Turf (€65/m²)
  • Stone Pavers (€80/m²)
  • Wooden Decking (€95/m²)

This choice will influence the overall surface cost of your project.

Step 3: Select an Irrigation System

Decide on the irrigation system needed for your project:

  • None
  • Basic Sprinkler System (€15/m²)
  • Advanced Drip System (€25/m²)

If no irrigation system is required, select “None”. Each option affects the irrigation system cost calculation.

Step 4: Choose Outdoor Lighting

Select a lighting option to enhance the landscape:

  • None
  • Basic Path Lights (€20/m²)
  • Premium Landscape Lighting (€35/m²)

The choice made here will be used to determine the lighting cost.

Step 5: Determine Plant Density

Choose the density of planting for your landscape:

  • No Plants
  • Low Density (€30/m²)
  • Medium Density (€50/m²)
  • High Density (€75/m²)

The density level will directly impact the planting cost in your project.

Step 6: Review the Calculated Results

Once all selections have been made, the calculator will provide the following results:

  • Total Area: Computed by multiplying length by width, displayed in square meters (m²).
  • Surface Cost: Calculated as the total area multiplied by the cost per square meter of the chosen surface type.
  • Irrigation System Cost: Derived from the total area multiplied by the cost of the selected irrigation system.
  • Lighting Cost: The price obtained by multiplying the total area by the selected lighting option cost.
  • Planting Cost: Calculated by multiplying the total area by the chosen plant density cost.
  • Total Project Cost: Sum of surface, irrigation, lighting, and planting costs.
  • Cost per Square Meter: Average cost per square meter, computed by dividing the total project cost by the total area.

Ensure you review each result and adjust your selections if needed to fit your budget or design preferences.
