How to Use the Link Calculator
Welcome to the Link Calculator guide. This guide will walk you through the process of calculating the strength and value of a link using the Link Calculator. Follow these steps carefully to ensure accurate results.
Step 1: Enter Domain Authority
Begin by entering the Domain Authority (DA) of the website. This is a metric that ranges from 0 to 100, indicating the website’s authority in search engines. Enter a numeric value in the input field labeled Domain Authority (DA). This field is required, and only whole numbers between 0 and 100 are accepted.
Step 2: Enter Page Authority
Next, input the Page Authority (PA). Similar to Domain Authority, Page Authority indicates the likelihood of an individual page ranking on search engines. Enter a value between 0 to 100 in the field labeled Page Authority (PA). This field, too, is mandatory.
Step 3: Enter Number of Referring Domains
The number of referring domains is important for link evaluation. Enter a whole number in the field labeled Referring Domains. This number signifies how many different domains link to the page or site in question. It’s a required field, so please ensure it’s filled in.
Step 4: Select Link Position
Select the position of the link on the page from the dropdown labeled Link Position. Options include First Paragraph, Body Content, and Footer. Each option carries a different weight which will affect the overall link score. This is a mandatory selection.
Step 5: Choose Link Type
In the dropdown labeled Link Type, choose the type of link. You can choose between Editorial/Contextual, Resource/Directory, and Author Bio. The type of link influences the credibility and impact of the link. Ensure you make a selection as this field is required.
Step 6: Determine Industry Relevance
Finally, select how relevant the link is to your industry from the dropdown labeled Industry Relevance. Options include Highly Relevant, Moderately Relevant, and Low Relevance. This choice reflects how closely the link content is associated with the industry content.
Step 7: Review Your Results
After completing all inputs and selections, the calculator will process the information and provide you with the results in three forms:
- Raw Link Score: This score is calculated based on the entered values and selected options. It considers domain and page authority, referring domains, and multiplicative factors derived from link position, type, and relevance.
- Estimated Link Value: This is the monetary value estimation of the link potential, displayed in USD.
- Link Strength Score: This expresses the strength of the link as a percentage value, giving you an overall idea of link impact.
Use these results to assess the potential value and impact of your link. Adjust any inputs and selections if needed to see how changes can influence link metrics.
