How to Use the Max Bench Calculator

The Max Bench Calculator is a tool designed to estimate your one-repetition maximum (1RM) for weightlifting, using several well-known formulas. Follow the step-by-step guide below to learn how to use it effectively.

Step 1: Input Your Weight Lifted

  1. Locate the input field labeled Weight Lifted (lbs/kg).
  2. Enter the amount of weight you lifted into the field. This value should be in either pounds or kilograms, depending on your preference.
  3. Ensure that the weight is within the allowed range of 1 to 1000, with increments of 0.5 units.

Step 2: Input Your Repetitions

  1. Find the input field labeled Repetitions Performed.
  2. Enter the number of consecutive repetitions you have performed with the specified weight.
  3. The number of reps should be between 1 and 20.

Step 3: Select the Calculation Formula

  1. Locate the dropdown menu labeled Calculation Formula.
  2. Select one of the available formulas you would like to use for the 1RM calculation:
    • Brzycki Formula
    • Epley Formula
    • Lander Formula
    • Lombardi Formula
  3. This selection is necessary, as each formula offers a slightly different calculation approach.

Step 4: View Your Results

  1. After providing the necessary inputs and selecting a formula, the calculator will compute your estimated 1RM.
  2. Your results will be displayed in the corresponding result field for the chosen formula:
    • Brzycki 1RM
    • Epley 1RM
    • Lander 1RM
    • Lombardi 1RM
  3. The result will be shown with one decimal of precision and units in pounds (lbs).
  4. If you wish to try a different formula, simply change the selection and review the new results.

By following these steps, you can effectively calculate your estimated one-repetition maximum for weightlifting using the Max Bench Calculator. Experiment with different formulas to find the one that best suits your training needs.
