How to Use the Missed Period Calculator

The Missed Period Calculator is a tool designed to help you determine if your period is late and predict your next expected period along with other important dates. Follow the steps below to utilize this calculator effectively.

Step 1: Gather Your Information

Before using the calculator, ensure you have the necessary information:

  • First Day of Last Period: The starting date of your last menstrual bleeding.
  • Average Menstrual Cycle Length: The average number of days from the first day of one period to the first day of the next.
  • Period Regularity: A choice between ‘Regular (within 7 days)’ or ‘Irregular (varies by more than 7 days)’ regarding your cycle consistency.

Step 2: Input Your Data

  • Locate the field labeled First Day of Last Period and enter the date properly formatted as a date. Ensure it is not a future date, as the calculator will only accept dates up to today.
  • Proceed to the field labeled Average Menstrual Cycle Length (days) and input your average cycle length. You can enter a number between 20 and 45.
  • Select your Period Regularity from the available options. Choose between ‘Regular’ or ‘Irregular’.

Step 3: Review Your Results

After entering all the necessary information, the calculator will provide you with several calculated fields. Pay attention to the following results:

  • Days Period is Late: This will display the number of days your period is late in a numerical format.
  • Next Expected Period: This gives you the estimated date of your next period based on the information provided.
  • Estimated Ovulation Date: Learn when you might have ovulated during your cycle, calculated using your last period and cycle length.
  • Fertile Window Start Date: The calculator provides an estimation of when your fertile window might have begun.

Use these results to better understand your menstrual cycle timings and plan accordingly. Note that while the calculator provides estimates, actual dates can vary based on numerous factors such as stress or health changes.
