Guide to Using the Prayer Times Calculator
The Prayer Times Calculator is a tool designed to help you find accurate prayer times based on your specific location and preferred calculation method. Follow these steps to effectively use the calculator:
Step 1: Enter Location Information
- Latitude: Enter the latitude of your location. It should be a number between -90 and 90. Use the placeholder as a guide.
- Longitude: Enter the longitude of your location. It should be a number within the range of -180 to 180.
- Altitude: Enter the altitude of your location in meters. The acceptable range is between -500 and 9000 meters.
Step 2: Select Calculation Preferences
- Calculation Method: Choose your preferred calculation method for the prayer times. Options include:
- Muslim World League (MWL)
- Islamic Society of North America (ISNA)
- Egyptian General Authority
- Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah
- University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi
- Madhab (for Asr): Select the madhab used for calculating the time for Asr prayer. You can choose between:
- Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanbali (Shafi)
- Hanafi
Step 3: Input the Date
- Use the date field to enter the specific date for which you want to calculate the prayer times. The date must fall between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025.
Step 4: Reviewing Results
Once you’ve entered all the required information, the calculator will provide you with the following results:
- Fajr Prayer: The time to perform the Fajr prayer will be displayed in the format HH:mm.
- Sunrise: The local time of sunrise will appear as HH:mm.
- Dhuhr Prayer: The calculated time for Dhuhr prayer will be shown in HH:mm format.
- Asr Prayer: The appropriate time for Asr prayer will be displayed, considering your selected madhab, in HH:mm.
- Maghrib Prayer: You will see the timing for Maghrib prayer in HH:mm format.
- Isha Prayer: The time to perform Isha prayer will appear as HH:mm.
- Qibla Direction: The calculator will also provide the Qibla direction, indicating the degree from North.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues, double-check that all fields are filled out correctly and within the specified ranges and formats. Ensure that the date is within the allowable period. For any anomalies in prayer times, reassess your calculation method and geographical inputs.
