How to Use the Rising Calculator

Step 1: Enter Your Birth Year

Begin by inputting your year of birth in the designated field, labeled “Year of Birth.” Ensure that the year you enter falls between 1900 and 2024. This field is mandatory.

Step 2: Select Your Birth Month

Next, select the month of your birth from the dropdown menu provided under “Month of Birth.” This list ranges from January to December. Selecting a month is also required for the calculation.

Step 3: Enter Your Birth Day

In the next field labeled “Day of Birth,” enter the day you were born. The day should be a number between 1 and 31, aligning with the specific month you selected. This is a required field.

Step 4: Input Your Birth Time

Input your birth time in a 24-hour format in the field “Birth Time (24-hour format).” Use decimals to indicate minutes, for example, 14.5 for 2:30 PM. This entry must be between 0 and 23.99 and is a necessary part of the calculation.

Step 5: Provide Your Birth Place Latitude

Enter the geographical latitude of your birth place in the field “Birth Place Latitude.” This value should range from -90 to 90 and is required for determining your rising sign.

Step 6: Provide Your Birth Place Longitude

In the final input field, labeled “Birth Place Longitude,” input the geographical longitude of your birth place. This value must be between -180 and 180 and is crucial for the calculation.

Step 7: Understanding the Results

After entering all the required information, the calculator will process your inputs to give you several results:

  • Ascendant (Rising Sign): This value, displayed in degrees, shows your ascendant on the zodiac wheel. The calculation takes into account the birth time, longitude, and celestial mechanics.
  • Rising Sign: Derived from the ascendant, this number indicates which zodiac sign your ascending degree falls into. It is calculated by dividing the ascendant by 30 and rounding down to the nearest whole number.
  • Degrees in Sign: This result shows the precise degree within your rising sign, indicating how far into the sign your ascendant lies. It is calculated by taking the ascendant modulo 30.

Each of these result fields uses specific formatting for clarity, with the ascendant and degrees in sign shown to two decimal places and the zodiac sign rounded to the nearest whole number.
