How to Use the Superfecta Calculator

The Superfecta Calculator is a helpful tool for calculating potential payouts in a betting pool. Follow these detailed steps to ensure accurate results:

Step 1: Enter Basic Pool Information

  1. Total Pool Amount ($):

Locate the field labeled “Total Pool Amount ($)”. Enter the total amount of money in the betting pool. This value must be a number greater than or equal to zero.

  2. Takeout Rate (%):

Enter the percentage of the pool that is taken as a fee, known as the takeout rate. You can specify a value between 0% and 100%, with increments of 0.1 for precision.

Step 2: Specify Ticket Information

  1. Number of Winning Tickets:

Provide the “Number of Winning Tickets” by entering the number of tickets that have won. Make sure this is an integer value of at least 1.

  2. Cost per Ticket ($):

Specify how much each ticket costs by entering a value in the “Cost per Ticket ($)” field. This must be greater than or equal to $0.10.

Step 3: Select Breakage Rule

A “Breakage Rule” determines how payouts are rounded to eliminate small decimal values:

  1. Select one of the following options from the dropdown menu:

    • Dime ($0.10): Rounds to the nearest ten cents.
    • Nickel ($0.20): Rounds to the nearest twenty cents.
    • Half Dollar ($0.50): Rounds to the nearest fifty cents.

Step 4: Review and Utilize Calculation Results

Once all inputs are provided, the calculator will automatically generate the following results:

  1. Net Pool:

The total pool amount after deducting the takeout. This amount is displayed as a currency value rounded to two decimal places.

  2. Payout Per Dollar:

The payout amount you receive per dollar bet, formatted as currency to two decimal places.

  3. Payout Per Ticket:

The payout amount for each winning ticket before applying breakage, formatted as currency with two decimal places.

  4. Breakage Amount:

The difference deducted due to the breakage rule, formatted as currency with two decimal places.

  5. Final Payout Per Ticket:

The payout amount for each winning ticket after applying the breakage rule, formatted as currency to two decimal places.

Make sure to double-check the inputs if the results do not match your expectations. The calculated results are dependent on the accuracy and integrity of the information provided.
