How to Use the Surface Area Calculator
This guide will help you utilize the Surface Area Calculator to compute the surface area and volume of different geometrical shapes. Follow the steps below to get the desired results.
Step 1: Selecting the Shape
The first step is to select the shape for which you want to calculate the surface area and volume. Here’s how:
- Locate the field labeled Select Shape.
- Open the dropdown menu and choose from the available options: Cube, Sphere, Cylinder, or Cone.
Step 2: Entering Dimensions
Depending on the shape you have selected, you will need to enter certain dimensions. Follow the instructions based on your shape choice:
- Cube: Enter the Length/Side in meters. This value will be used for both surface area and volume calculations.
- Sphere: Enter the Radius in meters. This value is crucial for calculating both the surface area and volume of the sphere.
- Cylinder: You need to provide two dimensions:
- Radius in meters
- Height in meters
- Cone: Similar to the cylinder, enter:
- Radius in meters
- Height in meters
Ensure the values you enter are positive and comply with the minimum input of 0.0001 meters.
Step 3: Viewing the Results
Once you’ve entered the required dimensions, the calculator will automatically compute both the surface area and volume of the selected shape. The results will be displayed under the following fields:
- Surface Area: Expressed in square meters (m²) with up to four decimal places for precision.
- Volume: Expressed in cubic meters (m³), also with up to four decimal places.
Review the calculated values and make any necessary adjustments to the inputs, if needed.
This step-by-step guide should enable you to efficiently use the Surface Area Calculator for your geometrical computations.
