The VBAC Success Calculator is a tool designed to help assess the probability of a successful vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Follow these steps to input your data and understand the results provided by the calculator.

Step 1: Enter Maternal Age

In the first input field labeled “Maternal Age”, enter your age in years. Ensure the value is between 15 and 50 as per the validation requirements.

Step 2: Enter Body Mass Index (BMI)

Proceed to the next field labeled “Body Mass Index (BMI)”. Input your BMI, ensuring it falls within the valid range of 15 to 60.

Step 3: Indicate Prior Vaginal Birth

In the “Any Prior Vaginal Birth?” section, select whether you have had any prior vaginal births. Choose “Yes” or “No” from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Indicate Recurring Indication for Previous Cesarean

Next, answer the question “Recurring Indication for Previous Cesarean?” by selecting either “Yes” or “No” from the provided options.

Step 5: Enter Number of Previous Cesareans

In the input box labeled “Number of Previous Cesareans”, enter how many cesarean deliveries you have had. The valid range is from 1 to 5.

Step 6: Enter Current Gestational Age in Weeks

Under the field titled “Current Gestational Age (weeks)”, input the current gestational age in weeks, which should be between 37 and 42 weeks.

Step 7: Indicate if Planning Labor Induction

• Risk Assessment Score: The calculator provides a risk score with the suffix “points,” which is inversely related to the success probability.
• Recommendation Category: Based on the VBAC success rate, the calculator categorizes you as either a Favorable VBAC Candidate, Moderate VBAC Candidate, or a Higher Risk VBAC Candidate.
