How to Use the Vertical Jump Calculator
Step 1: Understanding the Calculator
This guide will help you use the Vertical Jump Calculator to determine your vertical jump height and categorize your performance. The calculator requires you to input specific measurements related to your jump ability, and it outputs results in centimeters and inches, as well as your performance category.
Step 2: Gather Necessary Measurements
Before using the calculator, ensure you have measured the following:
- Standing Reach Height: Measure and note the height up to which you can reach while standing upright without jumping. Ensure this measurement is between 150 cm and 300 cm.
- Jump Reach Height: Measure and note how high you can reach after jumping. This should be between 150 cm and 400 cm.
Step 3: Enter Your Data
With your measurements ready, input them into the calculator:
- Standing Reach Height: Enter the measurement into the calculator’s designated field. Make sure the value falls within the specified range (150 cm to 300 cm).
- Jump Reach Height: Input your jump reach height into the calculator, ensuring it is between 150 cm and 400 cm.
Step 4: Select the Jump Type
Choose the type of jump you executed:
- Standing Jump: Select this option if you jumped without a running start.
- Running Jump: Pick this if you had a running start before jumping.
Step 5: Calculate and Interpret Results
After entering all the required data and selecting your jump type, the calculator will automatically provide the results:
- Vertical Jump Height: This is your calculated jump height in centimeters, formatted to one decimal place.
- Vertical Jump (inches): Your jump height converted to inches, also formatted to one decimal place.
- Jump Performance Category: Your performance will be categorized as Below Average, Average, Above Average, Excellent, or Elite based on your vertical jump height. This helps you understand your relative standing in jump performance.
Step 6: Analyze and Improve
Use the results to evaluate your jump performance. Consider training and exercises to improve your category if desired. Regularly measure and track your progress using the calculator.
