How to Use the Vocal Range Calculator
The Vocal Range Calculator helps you determine your vocal range, voice classification, and the number of octaves you can sing. Follow the steps below to use the calculator effectively.
Step 1: Identify Your Lowest Note
Begin by determining the lowest note you can comfortably sing. It is essential to sing naturally and not strain your voice. Once you have identified your lowest note, proceed to select it from the Lowest Note You Can Sing dropdown menu. The options range from C2 (65.41 Hz) to C4 (261.63 Hz).
Step 2: Identify Your Highest Note
Next, you need to find the highest note you can comfortably sing without straining your voice. Once identified, select this note from the Highest Note You Can Sing dropdown menu. The options range from C4 (261.63 Hz) to C6 (1046.50 Hz).
Step 3: Calculate Your Vocal Range
After selecting the lowest and highest notes, the calculator will automatically display your Vocal Range. This range is indicated as a combination of the lowest and highest notes you can sing. The result is formatted with a prefix “Range: “.
Step 4: Determine Your Voice Classification
The calculator also provides a Voice Classification based on your selected notes. It utilizes logic to categorize your voice into commonly known classifications such as Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Alto, Mezzo-Soprano, or Soprano. This is labeled as “Voice Type: ” in the results.
Step 5: Find Out Your Octave Range
Finally, the calculator will calculate your Octave Range. This figure is derived from the difference in octaves between your lowest and highest notes and is presented with one decimal place precision. The result is formatted with a suffix ” octaves”.
