Guide to Using the Workday Calculator
Step 1: Enter Your Date Range
Start by providing the essential date inputs for the calculation.
- Start Date: Select the start date from the calendar. Ensure the date is between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025.
- End Date: Choose the end date. This date must also fall within the same range: January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025. The end date should not be before the start date.
Step 2: Select Weekend Days
Choose how weekends are defined in your calculation. This is critical if your weekends differ from the standard Saturday and Sunday.
- Options include:
- Saturday and Sunday
- Sunday Only
- Friday and Saturday
Step 3: Enter Number of Holidays
Specify the total number of holidays within the selected date range. This will adjust the count of working days.
- Input field: Enter a number between 0 and 100.
Step 4: Specify Work Hours Per Day
Indicate the average number of work hours per day.
- Input field: Enter a value from 1 to 24. Values can be increments of 0.5 such as 8.5 hours.
Step 5: Calculate Results
Once all inputs are provided, the calculator will generate the following results:
- Total Calendar Days: Calculates the total number of days from start to end date.
- Weekend Days: Estimates the number of weekend days based on your selection.
- Working Days: The calculator subtracts weekends and specified holidays from the total duration to provide working days.
- Total Work Hours: The product of working days and work hours per day gives the total work hours.
- Work Weeks: Approximate work weeks are calculated by dividing the workdays by 5.
Review the results to ensure they align with your expectations. Adjust inputs and recompute if necessary.
